Buy to Let Stamp Duty

SDLT (Stamp Duty Land Tax), commonly referred to as just Stamp duty is a mandatory tax paid to the HMRC when you purchase property in England and Wales.  The payment of tax is made by the solicitor to HMRC within 30 days of completion.

Buyers will pay the additional 3% surcharge on second homes which catches buy to let landords.  This is a huge fee and no longer deductible on the tax return. (read more about this here:)
